Matt Porter

Commercial Insurance Agent

Matt got his start in insurance as an intern at Brown & Brown while attending University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned his degree in Economics in 2013. Over the past 16 years, he has built a strong background working with clients in property management, real estate investment and development, construction, and the cannabis industry. He’s especially known for helping cultivation clients recover multi-million dollar claims related to crop damage caused by contaminants from the Thomas Fire.

Matt recently joined Teague, bringing with him years of experience, long-standing client relationships, and a hands-on approach to helping businesses manage risk and protect what they’ve built.

Outside the office, Matt enjoys traveling with his wife, Stephanie, spending time on the golf course, and staying involved in the Santa Barbara community. He’s an Eagle Scout, serves on several local nonprofit boards, and recently welcomed his first child, Henry.
