Karen J. Estes, C.I.C. started in the insurance industry in 1982 while working in her father’s insurance agency. She purchased that agency when he retired in 1987. Later Karen merged her agency with Teague Insurance Agency to gain access to more insurance company affiliations, handle complex automation systems and have the agency manage human resource issues. Karen’s alliance with Teague Insurance Agency has allowed her the opportunity to do what she enjoys most; working with clients and assisting them in solving their insurance issues.

Karen received her A.A. (Associate of Arts) Degree from Palomar College in General Education and a B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine. In the insurance industry, she has received her designation as a Certified Insurance Counselor (C.I.C.) which requires 20 hours of continuing education every year to maintain the designation. Additionally, Karen has attended the Aetna Institute of Corporate Education in Hartford, Connecticut for 5 weeks as well as hundreds of hours in various seminars.

In addition to her affiliation with Teague Insurance Agency, Karen is a Director at Southwest Community Bancorp based in Carlsbad since their inception in 1997. She is also a Past President of the Rotary Club of Bonsall and Past President of the American Association of University Women in Fallbrook.

Karen enjoys going to movies and dinner in addition to travel and golfing.
